Can A team's Soumya, Sabbir and Co rediscover mojo in Caribbean?
The Bangladesh Cricket Board today declared two separate squads of the Bangladesh A team who are set to tour the Caribbean in August to play two four-day 'Tests' and three one-day matches against West Indies A.
All matches will be hosted by the Darren Sammy Cricket Ground in Saint Lucia, with the first four-day encounter slated to begin on August 04 after the A team contingent arrive in the Caribbean on July 31.
The 15-member Four-day squad has the surprise exclusion of former Bangladesh Test captain Mominul Haque -- who had earlier found himself sidelined for the slump in batting form -- since the Tigers are not scheduled to play any Test before October this year.
And for the likes of Soumya Sarkar, Sabbir Rahman, Mohammad Mithun, Shadman Islam and other out-of-favour national team players, the upcoming tour will present the golden opportunity to get back in contention for national team selection.
However, none of the 19 players named in the A team contingent will get to feature for the Tigers in the white-ball away series against Zimbabwe as the three T20Is and ODIs are slated from July 30 to August 10 and hence will clash with the A team's Caribbean assignment.
