Debabrata Paul resigns as match referee
Former cricketer Debabrata Paul submitted his resignation from the role of match referee to Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB), citing personal reasons on Monday.
Debabrata, who represents Bangladesh in the FICA, the global cricket players' association, had been serving as a match referee in local leagues since 2006, and has overseen 134 domestic matches.
The 45-year-old is one of five of BCB's Elite Match Referee panel, with two others working in ICC's pool of match referees.
Debabrata has also been serving as the secretary of the Cricketers Welfare Association of Bangladesh (CWAB) since 2014.
When contacted, Paul told The Daily Star," I'm stepping down from the role due to personal reasons absolutely."
