‘Don’t let success get into your head’: Naseem’s father advice to his son

Naseem Shah's father Abbas Shah has only one piece of advice to his son and that is to stay humble and never forget his son.

"My only advice to him that never let success get in your head and meet everyone with love and respect," Abbas told SAMAA TV.

Naseem's family pray for the entire team; Abbas said: "We pray for the entire team. What is the time if Nassem does well but Pakistan end up losing the match."

Naseem Shah revealed that growing up his father was never in favour of playing cricket and if not for her mother he would not have made it.

"My father never used to give us money. Because he knew that we will use it to buy tape or a ball. Mother on the other side used to give us money to buy the ball but it was a secret. Agar wo support nahi karte toh shayad cricket nahi khel paata (If not for my mother I wouldn't have played cricket)," said Naseem.

Naseem's father admitted it was only when they visited Lahore and a random guy lauded his son's bowling.

"When we came to Lahore and at the academy. We asked one boy, who was standing there, what are you doing here? He said there is a boy and I am waiting here to see him bowl. Then only I realised that he has got it in him," said Abbas.
