Hasan added to Bangladesh squad for second NZ ODI
Pacer Hasan Mahmud had been added to the Bangladesh squad for tomorrow's second ODI against New Zealand, confirmed Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) through a press release today, Friday.
The selectors have previously opted to rest the right-arm pacer alongside two other quicks, Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam, for the ongoing three-match series against New Zealand.
Bangladesh fielded just three specialist bowlers in the rain-abandoned first ODI, involving only two seamers in Mustafizur Rahman and Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who played his second ODI.
The inclusion of Hasan indicates the need for an extra seaming option in the Bangladesh playing eleven tomorrow.
Mustafizur remained the pick of the bowlers in the first game, bagging three wickets, while left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed remained economical and also took two wickets as the Kiwis were struggling on 136 for five in 33.4 overs before rain eventually washed out the game.
