High-flying Tigresses lose against West Indies

A high-flying Bangladesh, buoyed by three consecutive wins, were stopped in their tracks by the West Indies who registered a three-wicket win in an ICC Women's World Cup Qualifier between the sides in Lahore on Thursday.
Chasing a target of 228 runs, West Indies were left reeling when they lost half their side for 147 runs but Chinelle Henry's unbeaten 48-ball 51 guided them to victory with four overs to spare.
Stafanie Taylor and Hayley Matthews also played steady hands, contributing 36 and 33 runs each.
Earlier, Bangladesh, who opted to bat, found themselves in a strong position as they cruised 134-1 in the 28th over, thanks to a 118-run between Sharmin Akhter (67) and Farzana Hoque (42). However, Aaliyah Alleyne rocked Bangladesh by taking three quick wickets, removing the set duo in the same over, to take out impetus from the Bangladesh innings.
The Tigresses were reduced to 183-8 in the 44th over and needed Nahida Akter (25) and Rabeya Khan (23 not out) to make contributions in the lower-order to take Bangladesh past 200.
Despite the defeat, Bangladesh are in with a chance to qualify but would need to beat tournament hosts Pakistan in their last match on Saturday.
