‘I will go mad if I don’t work'

Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan is known to juggle numerous commitments at the same time which often forces people to wonder how the 36-year-old can keep performing at the highest level on the field and also live up to being one of the most sought-after figures for commercial activities in Bangladesh.

The ace all-rounder simply revealed his eagerness to keep working as he enjoys keeping himself busy on and off the field.
When the question was asked during a commercial event on how he manages to meet such hectic schedules, Shakib replied, "I feel good and I enjoy this a lot (being busy). I think if I don't work, I will go mad, so I always want to work."

Just a day after playing for Bangladesh in the third and final T20I against Ireland in Chattogram, Shakib flew to Dhaka and featured for Mohammedan Sporting Club in a Dhaka Premier League game in Savar, BKSP on Saturday.

A busy Shakib then took a helicopter ride even before the match had finished and just a few hours later attended a launching programme of a motorcycle brand in the capital. Such tight schedules have been a regular feature in the life of Shakib as he has managed to utilise every minute of his life both on and off the field to great effect.

While the Tigers will be gearing for the lone Test against Ireland starting from Tuesday in Mirpur, one can only guess the number of commercial commitments Shakib might have before the Test starts.

But as is the case with Shakib, one can expect the superstar of Bangladesh cricket to star on the field and break records through his stellar performances.
