Khelaghar Shamaj Kallyan Samity registered an eight-run win over Abahani Limited in a low-scoring affair in the Dhaka Premier Division Women's Cricket League at the Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium in Narayanganj on Wednesday.
Chasing a small target of 171, Abahani were bundled out for 162 in 48.1 overs, courtesy of Khalaghar spinners Murshida Khatun and Sultana Khatun, who picked up three wickets each.
Earlier, Lata Mondol, who scored a century in her previous game, top-scored with 72 runs off 114 balls as she struck three fours and a six.
Openers Dilara Akter and Shorna Akter managed to muster 30s as Khalaghar were bundled out for 170 in 44 overs after electing to bat first.
Despite a strong start from the openers Shamima Sultana and Murshida Khatun, who put together a 61-run stand, Abahani lost their way in the middle. Leg-spinner Fahima Khatun removed both the openers (Shamima 62, and Murshida 32). However, Abahani's Indian recruit Shivani Singh and skipper Jahanara Alam tried to see their team through before the former got run out for 22, while Jahanara got dismissed for 19 as Khalaghar clinched consecutive wins in the league.
