The rise of Joty -- who tallied 1228 runs in 50 innings in the 50-over format -- leads a positive trend for Bangladesh, whose players are beginning to make their presence felt in the global standings.

The top batting spot in women's ODI rankings is held by South Africa's Laura Wolvaart (738), followed by

Smriti Mandhana (738) of India and England's Natalie Sciver-Brunt (725).

At the time of filing the report, Joty is batting on 22 off 21 balls -- with scorecard reading 170 for three -- after Bangladesh opted to bat against Scotland in Lahore.
