Liton acknowledges ‘tough’ T20 task on Caribbean soil

Bangladesh captain Liton Das exuded confidence as his side gears up for a three-match T20 series against the West Indies, set to begin at the Arnos Vale Stadium tomorrow (6:00am BST).

The venue holds happy memories for Bangladesh, who secured wins over Nepal and the Netherlands here during this year's T20 World Cup. However, following a 3-0 drubbing in the preceding ODI series, the Tigers are keen to turn the tide.

Rain might have disrupted the eve-of-match preparations, but Liton dismissed any concerns about readiness, explaining that the players have remained in rhythm through recent fixtures and targeted preparation.

"No, there are no shortcomings because yesterday we also practised fielding under the lights. Most of the players in this team have played both ODIs and Tests, so they are in touch with the game," Liton said via a video message from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).

Bangladesh captain Liton Das informs about his side's preparation ahead of the three West Indies T20Is.

Liton did not shy away from acknowledging the inherent challenges of the shortest format, particularly on West Indies' home turf.

"Usually, T20 matches are challenging for us. Since this will be played on the West Indies' home ground, it will be a bit tough. We will try to figure out how to overcome this and focus on playing a good series," he said.
