'Man has to take bullets if he goes to war,’ says Nahid

Pace sensation Nahid Rana said he is ready to embrace increasing workloads instead of being overly cautious by the frequent injuries taking out quick bowlers worldwide.

"See, man has to take bullets if he goes to war. I will get injured if I play cricket," Nahid told reporters in Sylhet on Tuesday.

"I have been maintaining my fitness. And I have been trying to work as per the schedule of the BCB. I'm okay with what is in front of me."

Nahid has been enjoying a great run of form in this year's Bangladesh Premier League. The 22-year-old Rangpur Riders pacer has already taken nine wickets in five matches and played an instrumental role in his side's unbeaten run in the tournament. He returned figures of 3-21, starring in Rangpur's seven-wicket win over Dhaka Capitals at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium on Tuesday.

The right-arm pacer, who made his Test and ODI debut last year, made an instant impact by producing match-winning performances in the longer format for the Tigers and was also part of the last T20I series against West Indies. However, he couldn't get an opportunity to make his T20I debut during the series against the West Indies which Bangladesh won 3-0. One of the key reasons behind it was Bangladesh Cricket Board's (BCB) workload management regarding Nahid.
