Bangladesh win second Zimbabwe Test by an innings and 106 runs

Spinners reigned supreme as Bangladesh thumped Zimbabwe by an innings and 106 runs in the second Test of the two-match series against Zimbabwe in Chattogram on Wednesday.
Mehedi Hasan Miraz picked up a five-wicket haul, Taijul Islam scalped three, while Nayeem Hasan chipped in with a solitary wicket as spinners accounted for nine wickets to bundle out Zimbabwe for 111 in the final session on Day 3. after Bangladesh posted 444 in response to the visitors' 227.
The Tigers amassed 444, thanks to Miraz's 104 and a 41-run knock from tailender Tanzim Hasan Sakib after Shadman Islam's 120, giving the Tigers a 227-run lead.
Zimbabwe's reply got off to an abysmal start as they lost half their side for just 69 runs on the board. Opener Ben Curran scored 46 and tried to hold one end but the spin challenge proved too steep for the visitors.
Bangladesh sniffing innings victory
Taijul Islam struck twice as Bangladesh reduced Zimbabwe to 17-2 in thei8r second innings after taking a 217-run lead on Wednesday.
The left-arm spinner, who took five wickets in the first innings, removed Brian Bennett (6) and Nick Welch (2) before the Tea interval.
Nayeem Hasan then joined the party with the dismissal of Sean Williams.
There was a 47-run partnership between Ben Curran and Craig Ervine, but then Miraz returned to strike a triple blow. From 69 for three, Zimbabwe suddenly became 73 for six with Curran holding up one end.

Taijul Islam (20) was the only wicket to fall on the morning, becoming the fourth victim of leg-spinner Vincent Masekesa, who is on debut. Tanzim Sakib (41) was the next to fall in the second session before Miraz's dismissal wrapped up the innings.

Zimbabwe, who lead the two-match series 1-0, had scored 227 in their first innings after having won the toss.
