MSC win five on trot to confirm Super League
Mohammedan Sporting Club continued their winning spree after losing first five games as they registered a 52-run victory against Shinepukur Cricket Club to confirm their super league berth of the Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League at BKSP today.
Mahidul Islam Ankon was star performer for Mohammedan as he smashed a run-a-ball unbeaten 125 to help his side amass 276 for six. The Motijheel outfit then dismissed Shinepukur for 224 runs.
Mohammedan's super league, however, was confirmed following the Brothers Union's five-wicket success against Gazi Group Cricketers on the same day at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium in Mirpur.
Imrul Kayes-led Mohammedan today won five matches on trot to secure 11 points after completion of the tenth round.
Brother also kept their super league hope alive along with City Club, who beat Rupganj Tigers Cricket Club by two wickets at Fatullah. Both earned eight points each.
Earlier Abahani (18 points), Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club (18 points), Legends of Rupganj (16 points) and Prime Bank Cricket Club (12 points) confirmed their place in the super league.
