Tamim suffers injury, goes off the field
Tamim Iqbal suffered hand injury while fielding during the opening day of the one-off Test against Ireland today and went off the field in pain.
It was the first ball of the 59th over and Lorcan Tucker picked up a flighted delivery from Taijul Islam over deep mid-wicket. Tamim, fielding in the deep, dove for the ball but was not in control of his momentum during the dive. He miscalculated and fell awkwardly.
He left the field, holding his left arm in pain. Team sources have said that ice packs were being administered to his arm and he is under observation. An official statement on the injury is yet to come.
