Tanzim boards Lankan flight, wait still on for Liton
Young pacer Tanzim Hasan Sakib boarded the flight for Colombo on 1:00pm today to join the Bangladesh team for the Asia Cup campaign.
After reaching Colombo, Sakib will take the road trip to Pallekele where the Tigers will play their opening game of the tournament on August 31 against Sri Lanka.
The 20-year-old was included as a replacement for injured pacer Ebadot Hossain. But Sakib was unable to board the flight with the team on Sunday due to some ticketing complications.
Meanwhile, Liton Das, who also missed out on the Sunday flight due to fever, is yet to recover fully.
If his condition improves overnight, Liton might take the flight for Sri Lanka on Tuesday. However, even if Liton travels on Tuesday, it will be difficult for the Tigers' vice-captain to take part in the first game.
The BCB's medical department informed that Liton tested negative for dengue and his other reports also came out well.
In the absence of Tamim Iqbal, Liton is the most experienced opener in and the team management will have to think of a back-up ahead of the tournament opener.
