Tigers asked to bat as game reduced to 16 overs per side

Bangladesh lost the toss and were asked to bat in the first T20I of their three-match series against the West Indies in Dominca and reduced to 16 overs per side as the toss was finally completed one hour and 45 minutes later than scheduled due to inclement weather.

The Tigers were beaten handily in the preceding two-match Test series, losing both games, and will be hoping for a better showing in the T20Is, especially as this series will serve as part of the Tigers' preparations for the ICC T20 World Cup in October-November this year.

The West Indies are currently restructuring their team ahead of the T20 World Cup, giving Bangladesh a good chance to win their first game in the shortest format in the Caribbean.

The Tigers' bowlers have been in good touch, but implosions have become a theme of the batting order and that is what they will need to remedy most.

The playing eleven for Bangladesh included Anamaul Haque, who returns to the shortest format after over seven years. Munim Shahriar, Munim Shahriar, Liton Das, Shakib Al Hasan, Mahmdullah Riyad, Afif Hossain, Nurul Hasan, Sheikh Mehedi, Mustafizur Rahman, Shoriful Islam and Nasum Ahmed are the other 10.
