Delhi Capitals' officials lodged a complaint to Indira Gandhi International Airport authority in Delhi after the franchise's players found bats and other cricketing equipment missing from their kits bags following their arrival to Delhi from Bangalore on Sunday, reports the Indian Express.

It was learned the likes of David Warner, Mitchel Marsh, Phil Salt and others had their bats stolen, 16 in total, among other things – such as gloves, thigh-pads, shoes and so on.

Delhi players had played against Royal Challengers Bangalore the previous day and had handed their respective kit bags, as per protocol, to a logistics company which Delhi hired to transfer the combined luggage from venue to hotel and vice versa.

This happens to be the first time an IPL franchise has faced such a scenario since its inception in 2008.
