Will Shakib be available in all formats for WI tour?
Ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan's availability before a series becomes a hot topic of discussion before every series. There are whisperings that Shakib could opt out of one of the formats in the upcoming series against West Indies.
The Tigers will travel to West Indies in June to play two Test matches, three ODIs and three T20Is. Rumours are that Shakib may opt out of the ODI series. While talking to BCB sources yesterday, there were hints of Shakib opting out of a format.
Cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus said the matter was not yet 'official'.
We haven't heard anything officially. We're going forward with the plan that he will be in all three formats. Since the ODI series is in the latter part of the tour, we will see to it when he lets us know," Jalal told The Daily Star today.
The ODI series will begin at Guyana from July 10. The series is not part of the ODI Super League despite being a bilateral series and Shakib may want to manage his workload by opting out of one of the formats during the tour.
