So far so good for security team
On the second day of their assessment tour of Bangladesh, the England security team reached the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) headquarters in Mirpur on Thursday afternoon and the noises coming out of the delegation is that things have been satisfactory so far.
The security team comprising security advisor Reg Dickason, Professional Cricketers Association chief executive David Leatherdale and ECB's director of cricket operations John Carr arrived in Bangladesh on Wednesday for a routine visit ahead of England's scheduled tour of the country in October.
The three-man delegation's visit assumes special significance in light of the July 1 terror attacks on the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan, which casts security doubts over the tour.
However, while Carr was unwilling to give any details of their assessment so far while speaking to reporters in Mirpur, he did say that the cooperation the delegation has so far received from the BCB and different government agencies has been satisfactory. He added that they would make their assessment known to the concerned British authorities once they return to England.
They are scheduled to travel to Chittagong tomorrow in order to inspect the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, where a leg of the tour is scheduled to take place.
England are supposed to land in Dhaka on September 30 to play two Tests and three ODIs in Dhaka and Chittagong.
