Duminy looking forward to Bangladesh
South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has second thoughts about touring Bangladesh in July, but it is certainly not the case with his teammate Jean-Paul Duminy.
In fact JP Duminy is already thinking about South Africa’s tour of Bangladesh after returning home from his IPL stint with Delhi Daredevils.
South Africa’s tour will begin on July 5 and they will play two T20s, three ODIs and two Tests against Bangladesh during the monsoon season.
This is first time international cricket will be played in July and August in Bangladesh.
When asked about the timing of this series, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, the BCB CEO, said the tour was set four or five years ago in the FTP.
"We tried to change the schedule but we had to match with South Africa," he added.
Duminy is happy to be at home, and is spending time at the golfing green to unwind before he joins the Proteas setup around the middle of June for the Bangladesh tour.
He is optimistic about performing in Bangladesh since he has descent experience of sub-continental conditions.
Duminy expects a tough fight from the Tigers but believes his team has the talent to overcome all obstacles during their tour.
JP Duminy’s career stats reflect why he is considered a versatile cog in South Africa’s wheel.
