Dybala stands out: Xavi

Barcelona club legend Xavi Hernandez gave his views on his retirement, the most dangerous player in the Juventus team and who he would like to see in Barcelona colours before the Champions League quarterfinal first leg between Barcelona and Juventus.

On the subject of retirement he gave a concrete response, saying that he wished to continue for another year playing football.

“I have extended my contract with Al Sadd for another year. At the age of 38, I have a feeling that next year is going to be my last one” the midfielder told Goal.com in an interview.

Xavi singled out Paulo Dybala and Gonzalo Higuain as the most dangerous among the Juventus lineup, saying: "I would say that the most talented member of the Juventus team is Dybala. Higuain too can scores goals at any time, but I think Dybala stands out as the most talented Juve player.”

He also recalled Dani Alves with fondness. The Brazilian full back moved to Juventus last summer from Barcelona and Xavi pointed out: “I’d obviously take Dani Alves back. He decided to leave but for me he is the best right-back currently playing in the world and Barcelona miss him a lot”.

He earmarked Dani Alves and Dybala as good enough to play for current Barcelona team, before adding that he would be remiss to leave out Gianluigi Buffon from that list.

“Buffon I'd take too, of course, but Buffon is practically at the end of his career. Clearly with Buffon we are talking about one of the best goalkeepers in the sport’s history, along with Iker Casillas and a few others.

“He has been a historic goalkeeper but he is now 38 or 39, logic says he is at the end of his career. But the career Buffon has had is admirable, as is the fact he is still playing at the highest level." Xavi added, revealing his admiration for the legendary goalkeeper.

Asked to make a prediction on the quarterfinal tie, he responded: “I think Neymar, Messi and Suarez can do a lot of damage. I think Barcelona will score, maybe in a scoring draw, 1-1 or 2-2 in the first leg and then Barcelona will win at Camp Nou 2-0 or 3-1. Barcelona will go through.”

"I hope a comeback is not needed because they already made me sweat too much after the 4-0 in Paris. It was incredible.” Xavi concluded with a smile.
