Siddikur misses cut as Asian Tour returns

Siddikur Rahman missed the cut by one stroke at the Blue Canyon Phuket Championship as Asian Tour returned following 20 months' break due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Bangladeshi golfer, who has been currently playing on the Korn Ferry Tour in USA, flew to Thailand for back-to-back events in Phuket, but saw his first outing cut short by a whisker.

The 37-year-old returned a card of even-par (144) at the end of the second round at the Blue Canyon Country Club – 71 in first round and 73 in the second – to miss out on the 74-man cut by one stroke.

Thailand's in-form young star Sadom Kaewkanjana equalled the course record on Friday to take the lead at 12-under-par at the one-million-dollar event.

America's John Catlin, the first-round leader, was a stroke behind at 11-under-par. Siddikur will stay in Thailand for the time being as he will compete in the Laguna Phuket Championship.
