MATCH 13: INDIA VS SOUTH AFRICA
INDIA 307/7 (50 Overs)
SOUTH AFRICA 177 (40.2 Overs)       India beat South Africa by 130 runs

In a major win, India defeated South Africa by 120 runs at Melbourne today riding on the ton from Shikhar Dhawan and egged on by spinners in the World Cup 2015 match.

Winning the toss and electing to bat first, India started off with the dismissal of Rohit Sharma and a 127-run stand between Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan.

After what it looked like Indians would run away to post a total around 350 with Shikhar Dhawan's century and Ajinkya Rahane's hard-hitting fifty, South African bowlers pulled brakes with successive dismissals in the final 10 overs.

Dhawan, 137, was out in the 44th over with all preparation for India to sail for a high score with the scoreboard on 261. But, Dayle Steyn and Morne Morkel bowled exemplary depth bowling and the team contributed to top notch fielding to curb India to 307.

Morne Morkel took two wickets for South Africa while Dale Steyn, Imran Tahir and an expensive Wayne Parnell claimed one wicket apiece.

Coming into chase of the not-too-big total, South Africa lost wickets at regular intervals and eventually gave away to Indian spinners in the middle overs.

First to go early was opener Quinton de Kock, followed by Hashim Amla. Just when it looked as the 'dudes' were getting themselves set and ready to take on the chase of 307, India ran out de Villiers, 30, to clamp down on the Proteas.

Only AB de Villiers, 55, was able to make any real impression to the South African innings before the side was bowled out at 180 with 10 overs to spare.

Ravichandran Ashwin claimed three wickets for India while Mohammad Shami and Mohit Sharma claimed two apiece. A couple of spectacular run outs, those of de Villiers and Miller, were game changers during the play.
