Kohli breaks the jinx
Virat Kohli became the first ever Indian batsman to score a century against Pakistan in a World Cup match between India and Pakistan. He scored a commanding hundred off 120 balls with 8 hits across the fence.
Kolhi was given a chance by wicketkeeper Umar Akmal early in his innings. However, Umar Akmal redeemed himself when he held on to the catch that dismissed Kohli for 107 runs. Sohail Khan of Pakistan was the bowler in Kohli's dismissal.
In all World Cup encounters between India and Pakistan, no Indian batsmen had yet to score a century. That jinx was broken on 15th February, 2015 at Australia's Adelaide Oval as Kohli raised his bat to the crowd after smashing a century off 120 balls against their arch rivals Pakistan.
In the Pool B match between the two Asian giants, India won the toss and elected to bat on a sunny day at Adelaide. Dhoni's decision was vindicated by the Indian batsmen as they scored freely from the start.
India have reached 284 for 4 wickets in the 48th over till report was filed.
