Southee’s 7 downs England

New Zealand pace bowler Tim Southee brought the ninth match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to life with an outstanding display of swing bowling to wreck England's batting order. Southee captured seven wickets for only 33 runs in nine overs and reminded the glory days of swing bowling in the late 80s and 90s.

The pitch at Wellington seemed tailor-made for the Kiwi bowler as he beat the English batsmen repeatedly with late swing and clever variation of pace. This performance made Southee the new record holder of the best bowling figure for New Zealand in any sort of One-Day-International matches.

He bettered Shane Bond's effort against the Aussies where the tear away fast bowler took 6 wickets in that match.
On the back of Southee's devastating spell, England slumped to 123 all out in the 34th over of the match. He was well supported by Trent Boult, Adam Milne and Daniel Vettori who picked up one wicket each and tightened the screws on English innings.
