England pacer James Anderson celebrated his return from injury by breaking Australian legend Glen McGrath’s record which had stood for almost a decade.

Anderson was ruled out of the first Test against Pakistan at Lord’s due to a shoulder injury, but in the second Test at Old Trafford he claimed four wickets in England’s 330-run win as the hosts leveled the series 1-1.

Of his 458 Test wickets, Anderson now has 291 wickets on home soil, which is a new record for a pace bowler.

McGrath had the previous best, claiming 289 dismissals at home and doing so in one less Test than Anderson.

However, Jimmy remains a long way behind Muthiah Muralidaran's overall record of 493 wickets at home, with fellow spinners Anil Kumble (350) and Shane Warne (319) also ahead.
