Imranur off the pace at World Athletics Championship
Bangladesh's fastest sprinter Imranur Rahman failed to match his personal best as he finished seventh among eight in his heat to exit the 100m sprint in the World Athletics Championship in Budapest tonight.
The England-based sprinter, who clocked 10.50 seconds in the preliminary qualification round earlier in the day, finished the heat at 10.41 seconds, still 0.16 seconds slower than his personal best.
As a result, the 30-year-old sprinter could only finish 45th among 55 competitors, with 25 fastest making it to the semifinals.
Seville Oblique of Jamaica clocked the fastest time in the heats, 9.86 seconds, while defending champion Noah Lyles of USA came second at 9.95 seconds. Current Olympic champion Marcell Lamont Jacobs of Italy qualified in 19th position at 10.15 seconds.
