Acme Chattogram edge past Rupyan City Cumilla

Acme Chattogram moved to the top of the table of the Hockey Champions Trophy following their 3-2 victory over Rupayan City Cumilla at the Maulana Bhasani Hockey Stadium on Tuesday.

Acme Chattogram's fifth triumph in eight matches helped them to the top of the six-team table with 15 points, two more than Rupayan City Cumilla, who played seven matches.

Coming on the back of a 3-4 defeat against Monarch Padma in the previous match, Chattogram took the lead in the seventh minute with a strike from Hasan Jubair Niloy. Devindar Walmiki doubled the lead from a penalty in the 29th minute.

Cumilla pulled one goal back in the next minute through Sohanur Rahman Sabuj's strike from a penalty but Chattogram restored their lead in the 43rd minute after Davidar struck his second goal from open play.

Cumilla brought some excitement in the game with a goal in the  57th minute from Milon Hossain but could not find the equaliser in the remaining three minutes.
