Bangladesh survived a second-half scare to notch up a hard-fought 3-2 win over hosts Indonesia in their second match of the AHF Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia, today.

With two consecutive victories, the four-time champions sit top of Pool B with six points, followed by Thailand, who secured four points from two matches.

Fresh from a 5-1 win over Kazakhstan in their opener, Bangladesh found it hard to break Indonesia, who had also given Bangladesh a run for their money in the 2022 Asia Cup and 2022 Asian Games Qualifiers.

Both sides fought equally in the first half before Bangladesh broke the deadlock with an eye-catching strike from Obaidul Hossain Joy, who flicked a fierce hit from Rakibul Hasan from the right side in the 25th minute.

Three minutes later, Shohanur Rahman Sabuj converted the team's third penalty corner to double the margin, but Indonesia stunned the charges of Mamun Ur Rashid in the final minute of the break, courtesy of a reverse-hit from a tight angle by Alfrandy Rrastyo.

After the break, hosts Indonesia kept pressing Bangladesh, and finally equalised through a Mochamad Falhur goal in the 35th minute from open play.

Bangladesh, however, managed to get a winner in the final minute of the game as Fazle Rabby netted from close range.
