Bangladesh Swimming Federation (BSF) is considering appointing three foreign coaches to improve and make its mark in diving and water polo events along with swimming events in various competitions. 

"We sat in the executive committee meeting for the first time on Wednesday and decided to rope in three foreign coaches on a long-term basis because we have found a few good players in diving and water polo events during the Youth Festival. 

"If we can train them under a foreign coach, we think we may reach a decent level in Asian competitions," said BSF general secretary Mahbubur Rahman Shahin.

"We are looking forward to getting the coaches from Singapore, Korea, Japan and China. We will also seek the help of JICA and KOICA. They used to help us by providing the coaches from their countries."

Shahin also revealed that the national training camp for the 2026 South Asian Games will get going after Eid-ul-Fitr unless the Bangladesh Olympic Association wants it to start before that.
