Female police officer becomes World Karate Federation judge
Sub-inspector Lata Parvin has been appointed as a judge of World Karate Federation, said a press release yesterday. Lata is working as a sub-inspector of in-service training centre of Chattogram Metropolitan Polie.
According to the press release, Lata appeared at the exam of World Karate Referees’ and Judges’ Seminar and WKF Premier League in Dubai from February 10 to 17. She passed the exam successfully to become a judge of the karate’s world body. The press release added that Lata is the first woman from South Asia to achieve such honour.
She previously represented Bangladesh in international karate events and became a judge of Asian Karate Federation in 2017.
