PM mourns death of Ali

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina yesterday expressed deep shock at the death of boxing icon Muhammad Ali. She termed him as the greatest boxer of all time.

In a condolence message, Sheikh Hasina, now in Saudi Arabia on a five-day official visit, said: "Muhammad Ali was the greatest boxer of all time and he played an important role in popularising the event of boxing across the world including Bangladesh."

She also said that Ali's name would live forever. She further added that Ali was one of the greatest human beings as he was always vocal to realise the rights of the exploited and oppressed people across the world. Ali died aged 74 yesterday in Phoenix, Arizona.
