Shakeel wins gold in shooting
Shakeel Ahmed of Bangladesh won the gold medal in 50m Pistol event at 12th South Asian Games at Guwahati today.
Bangladeshi shooter clinched gold with 187.6 points, just 0.3 ahead of India’s Om Prakash at Kahilipara Shooting Range, Kahilipara, India, reports our correspondent.
With Shakeel, Bangladesh now has four gold medals in the bag. Mabia Akter Shimanta had won the first gold in weightlifting 63kg (women). Mahfuza Khatun Shila won her second gold medal after the 100m Breast Stroke (women) in 50m Breast Stroke as well.
Bangladesh is now placed at fourth position in medals tally of SA Games 2016 behind India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan.
Bangladesh has won 42 medals in total. 4 gold, 10 silver and 28 bronze when report was filed.
