Sheikh Russel School TT on Tuesday

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra will commemorate the birthday of Sheikh Russel, youngest son of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, by launching a school table tennis tournament, said club officials yesterday.

The four-day long tournament will get underway from Tuesday, Sheikh Russel's 52nd birthday, at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium where some 260 students including 25 autistic children from 41 different schools will take part. The participants will compete in seven different events – boys' singles, boys' team, girls' singles, girls' team, boys' sub-junior, girls' sub-junior and autistic singles.

Bashundhara Group and Bashundhara Cement will jointly sponsor the event which has a budget estimated at Tk 15 lakh.
