Mushy fights on, brings up 150
Even though Bangladesh lost two early wickets on the second day of their second Test against Sri Lanka in Mirpur today, Mushfiqur Rahim kept on going as the experienced campaigner brought up his 150.
Rajitha removed in-form Liton Das and Mosaddek Hossain in the same over to bring Sri Lanka back into the Test. But that, however, did not slow down Mushfiqur, who looked solid and more confident since coming down to bat today.
The right-hander, who has come under heavy scrutiny for his penchant for sweeps and reverse sweeps, brought out his first reverse sweep of the innings to a Ramesh Mendis delivery. He soon followed it with a exquisite drive through te cover before hitting Praveen Jayawickraman for another boundary with a sweep the very next over as he moved to 149.
He got to the landmark score of 150 off 291 deliveries when he tucked a Mendis delivery towards square leg for a double. This is also his fifth 150-plus score in Tests.
