Ebadot, Naim to join Tigers in Harare for final Zim ODI
Batter Mohammad Naim and pacer Ebadot Hossain will be joining Bangladesh team in Harare for the final ODI against Zimbabwe, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) confirmed today.
"As there are a few injury concerns in the team, the team management has decided to send Naim and Ebadot to Zimbabwe in order to increase the squad depth. Both of them will be boarding flight today," BCB chief selector Minhajul Abedin Nannu told The Daily Star.
Bangladesh, who trail their ongoing three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe 1-0 after a five-wicket loss in the series-opener on Friday, have a few injury concerns. Batter Liton Das has already been ruled out of the entire series with a hamstring injury, whiich he suffered after scoring 81 in the first ODI yesterday. Pacer Shoriful Islam was also unable to complete his 10-over spell in the first ODI after apparently hurting his knee while trying to grab a return catch off his own bowling.
Ebadot and Naim, however, will act as back-ups for the final ODI, scheduled for August 10, as Bangladesh are scheduled to play the second ODI tomorrow.
"They [Ebadot and Naim] will be leaving today so they won't be available for tomorrow's game. They will be backups for the final ODI," Minhajul added.
