Tigers lose three in quick succession

After a decent opening stand, Bangladesh lost three quick wickets to see themselves in a precarious situation in the third and final ODI against Zimbabwe at the Harare Sports Club today. 

From 41 for no loss, Bangladesh were reduced to 47 for three in 9.4 overs with skipper Tamim Iqbal, Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim departing in space of just eight deliveries.  

The first to depart was Bangladesh ODI skipper Tamim as an unforced error from the Tigers saw the left-handed opener fall to a run-out in the ninth over. Anamul Haque, after pushing a ball square on the off side, briefly hinted for a run and soon decided against it only to see Tamim, who was already committed to the run and almost halfway in the crease, fall short as he tried to hurry back. 

Pacer Brad Evans had Shanto in the very first delivery next over when the left-hander cut a short ball straight to the hands of the fielder at backward point. Shanto, struggling for consistency in recent games, had to depart after a golden duck.

Evans struck once again in the same over, this time picking up the experienced batter Mushfiqur in the fourth delivery of the over. Mushfiqur, too, departed without opening his account as his attempted upper cut ended up in the hands of the fielder at thirdman region.
