Dhaka’s Udana tests positive for Covid-19
Minister Group Dhaka's Sri Lankan pacer Isuru Udana has tested positive for Covid-19, informed the franchise through a media release today.
"As set out in the Covid-19 protocol for the Bangabandhu BPL T20 2022, Udana is isolating. He will remain under the supervision of the tournament medical team and further tests will be done in due course," read the press release adding that the left-armer had undergone the test on Thursday.
Udana, who played for Dhaka in all four matches during the Dhaka phase of the tournament, was left out of the eleven for their ongoing game against Sylhet Sunrisers in Chattogram.
This is not the first case of Covid-19 in the tournament. Fortune Barishal's wicketkeeper batter Nurul Hasan Sohan, young batter Munim Shahriar and their batting coach Nazmul Abedin Faheem were also tested positive for Covid-19 at the beginning of the tournament. Soumya Sarkar also played his first game for Khulna Tigers today after recovering from Covid.
