Shakib absent from BPL's trophy photo session before final

Just a day ahead of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) final, Fortune Barishal skipper Shakib Al Hasan was absent in the photo session event on Thursday that required captains of two BPL finalists framed alongside the trophy.

Two different kinds of information were relayed explaining why Shakib was not present and that created some confusion. When Barishal media manager was inquired, he informed that Shakib had an upset stomach.

Nurul Hasan Sohan came to the press event alongside Comilla Victorians skipper Imrul Kayes. With everyone expecting Shakib to be there, Sohan was inquired regarding the skipper's absence.

"We had optional practice yesterday and we participated. Maybe he did gym today and that's why he couldn't come. This is why I came [to this event]. This is a decision by the management and I don't know anything more than that," Sohan said.

Asked why there were two kinds of information out there regarding Shakib's absence, Sohan replied: "As I said, this is a decision by the management. When I saw earlier, he was at the gym in the morning before I arrived here."

Sohan however was certain that Shakib will play tomorrow. "Of course," he replied.
