Salauddin takes swipe at BCB for DRS-less BPL group-stage

One of the most sought-after coaches in Bangladesh's franchise cricket, Mohammad Salauddin came out criticising Bangladesh Cricket Board for their failure to ensure the DRS in the upcoming edition of the Bangladesh Premier League starting on January 6.

BPL's governing council member secretary Ismail Haider Mollick confirmed the unavailability of the DRS on Saturday citing heavy international schedules and the inaccessibility of the two key technological features—Hawkeye and virtual eye.

But the Comilla Victorians coach didn't have any of it saying that the board had enough time to procure the system.

"It's very natural to be disappointed about the fact that a big tournament such as the BPL will not have the DRS. A decision might not go your way and you can end up losing the tournament altogether," Salauddin said.

"The tournament should've had DRS. They (BCB) had a lot of time to sort it out. You have so much money but you couldn't bring DRS to the BPL. They don't have any shortage of funds. So, there should've been DRS," he added.

The ninth edition much like the previous season will, however, have an alternative DRS which in its essence allows the third umpire to watch referred decisions in slow-motion and does not have ball tracking or real-time snicko.
