Fortune Barishal skipper Tamim Iqbal said they want to win against Chittagong Kings in the final of the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) on Friday to reward their fans for their unwavering support this season.

"We are very lucky to play for a franchise which is so well supported. Whether we played in Chattogram, Sylhet or Dhaka, the Barishal fans were always there. We always dreamt of a BPL where each of the franchises would have a different fan base and I think that it's something that Barishal has been very successful in executing, especially in the last two years," Tamim said.

Tamim also said that they want to do a trophy tour in Barishal if they can win the trophy, something they were not able to do after winning the previous season.

"Obviously for them [fans] we will put forth our best efforts to play well and become champions. Last time also there was a plan to do that [trophy tour] but some issues came up, which is why we couldn't go even though we wanted to. This time too we have the desire to go and if the Almighty is willing then of course it will happen," Tamim added.

A pre-final photo shoot of the captains has been scheduled to take place at a city hotel in Dhaka at 7:30 pm today. However, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officially informed the media about the photoshoot around two hours before the programme.

Tamim, who had spoken to the press in the afternoon, had not attended the pre-final photoshoot last year and said that events like these should be better planned.

"If I am being honest, the two captains that went [last year] were [Mehedi Hasan] Miraz and Jaker Ali Anik but it should have been me and Liton Das. It's our fault too that we didn't do it… The reason I didn't go was because I played the semifinal [second qualifier] the night before. To wake up the next morning and go there [Ahsan Manzil] was impossible.

"If the plan was communicated beforehand than it could have been done in a much organised way," he said.

He also felt that new cricket organisers with fresh ideas are better than organisers who have been in the circuit for a long time but have not acted with the right intentions.

"You can have 50 years of experience but if you don't have the right intention, there is no point in having 50 years' of experience. There is a term called cricket organiser. You have been a cricket organiser for 30 years but if Bangladesh cricket is going downwards then that experience has no value for me. Rather bring someone new who has new voice and ideas," he concluded.
