Fortune Barishal's veteran batter Mahmudullah Riyad broke all-rounder Mehdi Hasan Miraz's record for the most matches played for the franchise on Sunday. 

At the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram, Mahmudullah went past Miraz as he played his 35th match for the reigning champions.

The 38-year-old, however, failed to mark this landmark with positive performance as he threw his wicket away, putting his side in a tricky situation at four down for 52 in the 10th over chasing down a 121-run total. The right-handed batter put away two fours in an 11-ball 16 and looked to up the ante which led to his dismissal. 

Barishal was bailed out by English opener Dawid Malan who expertly anchored the innings and helped his side across the finish line with an unbeaten 41-ball 56.
