Shakib arrives for India match fully geared up
According to the team management, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan has arrived at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium on Pune today with his kit bag, indicating that the all-rounder is likely to take part in the crucial World Cup match against India, even though there is still no official confirmation.
The 36-year-old was expected to receive the report of the second MRI scan done on his left thigh in the morning, which he injured during Friday's match against New Zealand in Chennai.
Shakib went for the first scan straight from the ground after the game against New Zealand. Later, the team management revealed that his condition would be assessed on a day-to-day basis.
It was learnt that Shakib had a grade 1 tear on his left thigh but the team management never revealed his injury status officially.
If Shakib eventually plays today it will be a huge boost for the Bangladesh team who are looking to bounce back after consecutive defeats against England and New Zealand following a six-wicket win over Afghanistan in their opening match in the World Cup.
