Shakib had gone to Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium today for a practice session after returning to the country this morning. Shakib worked with his mentor Nazmul Abedeen Fahim during the session.

According to sources, Shakib will head back to India on October 27 ahead of Bangladesh's match against the Netherlands at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata on October 28.

Bangladesh team were slated to depart from Mumbai for Kolkata in the afternoon today but Shakib was not seen with the rest of the team as they boarded the team bus.

The skipper has not had the best time with the bat at the ongoing World Cup, producing scores of 14, 1, 40 and 1 in the four matches he has played in so far. He had also missed the match against India due to a thigh injury. He averages only 14 with the bat in this World Cup and the all-rounder maybe looking to work on his batting during the gap between matches.
