Taskin angered by criticism
A frustrated Taskin Ahmed almost exploded in anger during his interaction with the media following a 137-run defeat against England in Dharamshala on Tuesday.
"To be honest we were unable to execute ourselves in the middle as we had a bad day. Everyone was unable to give their best. There is no point giving any excuses as we have done well in the past, even in poor outfield conditions than this. We were unable to bowl according to our plan," said Taskin.
While he spoke in the media zone, the situation changed dramatically when Taskin was asked whether the high expectations from the fast-bowling unit, based on the achievements in the past couple of years, went in vain after the poor show in the first two games of the World Cup.
Taskin, who seemingly had lost his composure, replied, "I told you there is no point giving any excuse as we were unable to bowl well. But if you judge all our achievements of the last two years after just two games, then it's our failure. We will try to do well in the coming days."
And even before the next question was completely presented, Taskin immediately replied, "We couldn't bowl well."
Taskin's dissatisfaction was clearly evident as he headed back following the presser. When this reporter asked the seamer whether he got angry over the questions, he replied, "If you keep asking the same question, what should I say?
