Super performer of the day
MISBAHUL HAQ
Misbahul Haq's 82 off just 72 deliveries was the reason Pakistan were able to declare with a 549-run lead in the second innings and yet give Bangladesh an uneasy 14overs on the third evening of the Dhaka Test yesterday. He was very positive from the first delivery he faced after coming in to bat at the fall of the third wicket for 49. The 40-year-old batsman was cautious against good deliveries but didn't miss out on the bad ones to bring up his 27th 50 off 52 balls and race to 82, with three sixes and nine fours, falling to Mahmudullah Riyad. Misbah's decision not to enforce the follow-on on Bangladesh might disappoint a few, but considering the hosts' batting efforts in the second innings of the Khulna Test and the deteriorating nature of Dhaka pitch, it was perhaps a wise decision.
