Nat'l TT in Patuakhali

The South-East Bank 36th National Table Tennis Championships will get underway on Saturday at the Patuakhali District Sports Association gymnasium, with 42 teams taking part in the meet.

Around 260 players will be competing in seven events -- men's singles, doubles and team; women's singles, doubles and team; and mixed doubles -- informed Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation's general secretary Khandokar Hasan Munir at a press conference at the Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.

It is the second time that Patuakhali will be hosting the national championships after first hosting it in 2002. The last edition of the championship was held in Gopalganj where Ansar won in both men's and women's team events while Chittagong and Bagerhat finished second.
