Test heroes enjoy day off

After five days of toil produced the sweetest reward with Bangladesh's first Test win against Sri Lanka in the nation's 100th Test at the P Sara Oval in Colombo on Sunday, the Test heroes were in relaxed mood on the following morning.

At the Taj Samudra hotel, most of the players were taking in the cool conditioned air in their rooms, presumably, as they were not in the hotel lobby. Player of the match in the historic Test, Tamim Iqbal, however, was a fair distance away in Mumbai, celebrating his 28th birthday with his family.

Player of the series Shakib Al Hasan, it was learnt, had gone out of the city for the day with his wife for a sightseeing outing.

The Test players were given a break from practice at the R Premadasa International Stadium, where the ODI squad will look to hit the ground running in preparation for the practice match on March 22 and then the ODI series beginning in Dambulla on March 25.
