Wave of outcry over CWC trophy handover
A wave of outcry spread through the mainstream and social media across the world after the International Cricket Council (ICC) chairman handed over the World Cup trophy to the winning captain sidelining its president.
In an anti-climax, ICC yesterday allowed its chairman Narayanswami Srinivasan to hand over the WC trophy to Michael Clarke, a task supposed to be undertaken by its sitting Bangladeshi President AHM Mustafa Kamal.

"ICC chairman N Srinivasan may breach the global body's constitution on Sunday as reports suggest that he has decided to give away the World Cup trophy to the winning captain," reports ibnlive.in.com, a news portal on cricket game.

As per the ICC constitution it is the president who is supposed to give away the trophy to the winning captain. The practice is one that has been followed since the 1999 World Cup.
Kamal, who was not even on the stage during the post-match presentation and also wasn't given a place in the president's box, described the move as unconstitutional.
