School that stays inundated 4 months a year
Every year during the monsoon, the Madangouri Government Primary School in Hakaluki Haor (large water body) area becomes inundated with water.
The school in Bhukshimoil union in Moulvibazar’s Kulaura Upazila remains submerged for four to five months every year as the building was built in an unplanned way on a low ground. As a result the school authorities have to keep it closed during rainy season.
This year, flood water rose in June and even after three months the school ground is still under five feet of water. So, the school remains closed, hampering the academic activities of its students.
