The word "Mezban" comes from the Persian language meaning "Host." But the word Mezban adopted in Chattogram's local accent sounds as "Meijjan". And as soon as you hear "Meijjan", you start visualising smoked white rice, various dishes of beef and chana dal (a type of pulses).
